Whistleblower alleges Trump antisemitism probes lacked evidence

A former Justice Department attorney, Haley Van Erem, filed a whistleblower complaint alleging that a Trump administration task force created to combat antisemitism pushed for settlements with Ivy League universities despite investigations that were rushed, incomplete, or lacked evidence of legal violations. The complaint, made public by Rep. Jamie Raskin, claims outcomes were predetermined and politically motivated, designed to extract money from schools through settlement demands and funding freezes. The task force, launched under Attorney General Pam Bondi in February 2025, targeted Brown, Harvard, and Columbia universities. Columbia agreed to pay $200 million and Brown $50 million to resolve probes, while Harvard faced funding cuts and a lawsuit that was later dismissed. The complaint also alleges targeting of Muslim professors and disregard for due process and free speech.
