The UP-Japan Investment Meet 2026, held from August 18-23, 2026, is a five-day investment conference aimed at deepening economic ties between India — Uttar Pradesh and Japan. The event, organized by India — Invest UP, features a high-level CEO Roundtable in New Delhi on August 19, attended by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union ministers Piyush Goyal, Ashwini Vaishnaw, and Shivraj Singh Chouhan. More than 200 Japanese industrialists, CEOs, and policymakers, led by Japan — Yamanashi Prefecture Governor Kotaro Nagasaki, are participating. The agenda includes discussions on green hydrogen, semiconductors, electric mobility, and digital infrastructure. A virtual groundbreaking ceremony will launch projects by Escorts Kubota (Rs 2,025 crore) and Uno Minda (Rs 1,166 crore) in the India — Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), together creating over 10,000 jobs. The state also plans a 500-acre 'Japanese City' in YEIDA to attract further investment. Union Minister Piyush Goyal highlighted that bilateral trade stands at $27.5 billion, with a target of 10 trillion yen in Japanese investment in India over the next decade.
