Davido alleges election interference in Osun

Afrobeats star Davido, in an interview with News Central TV, alleged that Senate President Godswill Akpabio and billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote contacted him during the Nigeria — Osun State governorship election to delete his social media posts. He also claimed that over N110 billion was brought into the state to influence the election outcome. Davido refused to delete his posts until the Nigeria — Independent National Electoral Commission announced the results. His uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, won the election. Davido emphasized that his camp did not spend money on election day and relied on voters to protect their ballots. He warned that allowing money and violence to determine elections would set a dangerous precedent for Nigeria.
