Lee Display announced the development of FLiPP (FMM-Less innovative Pixel Patterning), a new OLED manufacturing method that eliminates the need for fine metal masks (FMM). The technology, unveiled at IMID 2026 in South Korea — Busan, improves brightness by 1.6x, lifespan by 2.4x, and reduces power consumption by 13% compared to FMM-based panels. FLiPP uses photolithography and enables manufacturing on 8.5-generation mother glass as a single piece, increasing substrate utilization efficiency by up to 64%. Lee Display has filed trademark applications for FLiPP in Korea and global markets. The company plans to apply FLiPP to IT products first, then expand to wearables and large TVs. Lee Display's Hyper Double Scanning (HDS) technology also won the IMID Display of the Year Award.
