The better-than-expected forecast and quarterly sales beat boosted investor confidence, lifting shares nearly 8% in premarket trading. The company's resilient premium fragrance demand and strong China performance signal continued growth, positively impacting the cosmetics and luxury goods sectors.
Estée Lauder Companies forecast fiscal 2027 adjusted earnings per share in the range of $3.10 to $3.35, with the midpoint above analysts' average estimate of $3.18, according to London Stock Exchange Group data. The company also reported fourth-quarter fiscal 2026 sales of $3.63 billion, beating the estimate of $3.54 billion. The positive outlook is driven by sustained demand for premium fragrances and strong performance in China, as well as gains from CEO Stéphane de La Faverie's 'Beauty Reimagined' turnaround strategy. The company noted a $38 million benefit in cost of sales from refunds received during the fourth quarter, partially offsetting the full-year gross impact of incremental tariffs of $102 million. Shares rose nearly 8% in premarket trading following the announcement. The merger talks with Puig collapsed in May.
