President Bola Tinubu has appointed Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, effective August 27, 2026. Enitan, the most senior Permanent Secretary, succeeds Didi Esther Walson-Jack, who retires upon reaching the statutory retirement age of 60. Enitan brings over seven years of experience as Permanent Secretary across several ministries, including the Nigeria — Ministry of Police Affairs, the Nigeria — Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, the Nigeria — Presidency of Nigeria, and currently the Germany — Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space.
