Seiko Epson — Epson Precision Philippines Inc. (EPPI), the local subsidiary of Epson, signed a supplemental agreement with the Philippines — Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) on August 13 to expand its operations at the Philippines — Lima Technology Center Special Economic Zone in Philippines — Batangas. The expansion involves investing over P40 million to manufacture industrial robots, including SCARA and six-axis models, along with component parts, sub-assemblies, spare parts, and after-sales service parts. Commercial operations are scheduled to begin in March 2027, and the project is expected to create 118 jobs. EPPI has been registered with PEZA since 1995 and currently employs over 20,000 workers at its 33-hectare facility. The move marks EPPI's transition from precision printing to precision robotics, further integrating the Philippines into Epson's global robotics supply chain and positioning the country as a hub for advanced manufacturing.
