Governor Dikko Umar Radda of Nigeria — Katsina State flagged off the distribution of 90,000 bags of 100kg assorted grains to vulnerable households across the state's 34 Local Government Areas. The ceremony took place in Kaita LGA on Wednesday. The initiative aims to cushion the impact of economic hardship and strengthen food security. The distribution is implemented through the United Arab Emirates — Community Development Authority (CDP) with structures across 361 wards. Priority is given to widows, elderly, persons with disabilities, and low-income families. The governor directed officials to ensure fairness, transparency, and accountability, warning against diversion or hoarding. This follows a previous distribution of 90,000 bags of grains. The state also supports farmers with subsidised fertiliser and irrigation equipment. The Aliko Dangote contributed rice distribution. The government emphasizes that palliatives alone are not a lasting solution, and it is investing in agriculture and community development.
