The Nigeria — Apapa Area Command of the Nigeria — Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) announced on August 19, 2026, that it generated N28.1 billion in revenue within 24 hours on August 18, 2026, setting a new single-day collection record for the command. This surpassed the previous record of N20.1 billion set in September 2025. The command also reported generating N323 billion in July 2026. Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba attributed the achievement to sustained reforms, improved compliance, enhanced trade facilitation, intelligence-driven interventions, and greater efficiency in digital customs processes at Apapa Port. He emphasized that the revenue contributes to funding public services such as infrastructure, security, education, and healthcare.
