Barton Gold Holdings Limited announced the start of sterilisation drilling programs at its Tunkillia Gold Project in South Australia. The drilling is designed to test potential locations for infrastructure such as waste dumps, tailings storage facilities, and processing plant to ensure they are not sited over valuable mineralisation. This follows the completion of 57,653 metres of resource upgrade drilling, which is expected to upgrade the project's mineralisation to JORC 'Measured' and 'Indicated' categories. The company is advancing a pre-feasibility study (PFS) targeting publication in Q1 CY27, which will support a Mining Lease application and financing. The Tunkillia project's May 2025 Optimised Scoping Study outlined a development project with modelled annual production of approximately 120,000oz gold and 260,000oz silver, an NPV of A$1.4 billion, and an IRR of 73.2%.
