The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises organized a national seminar at the IIT Madras on August 18, 2026, titled 'From Local to Global: Enabling Export-Ready MSMEs through Digital Commerce'. Key speakers included Praveen, Additional Chief Secretary, MSME Department, Tamil Nadu, who emphasized digital commerce's role in transcending geographical boundaries and called for stronger Centre-State convergence; Prof Manu Santhanam, Dean, IC&SR, IIT Madras, who highlighted innovation and academia-industry collaboration; and Hansraj Verma, Director General, Council of State Industrial Development & Investment Corporation of India, who stressed quality and digitalization. Technical sessions featured experts from DGFT, EXIM Bank, ECGC, and consulting domains, covering export procedures, trade finance, risk mitigation, market identification, international payments, compliance, and e-commerce onboarding. The seminar was part of the Procurement & Marketing Support (PMS) Scheme's capacity-building interventions.
