FCT Minister Urges Interfaith Peace Ahead 2027

Ahead of Nigeria's 2027 general elections, Minister of State for the Nigeria — Federal Capital Territory (Nigeria), Marwa Mahmoud, urged religious leaders nationwide to use their influence to promote peace, unity, and tolerance while rejecting hate speech, violence, extremism, and intolerance. She made the call while delivering a goodwill message at an interfaith prayer session for Nigeria and President Bola Tinubu, held at the Shehu Musa Yar'Adua Centre in Abuja. Mahmoud emphasized that places of worship should remain sanctuaries of peace and national unity, and that Nigeria's religious, ethnic, and cultural diversity should be a source of strength rather than division. She also called on Nigerians to support President Tinubu's administration and the Renewed Hope Agenda. The event was convened by Aisha Yau, National President of the Women Initiative for Family Economy, who commended religious leaders for their role in peaceful coexistence and urged continued prayers for the government.
