The leadership change is expected to be neutral to slightly positive, as it is a planned transition with an experienced insider returning. Investors will watch for continuity in strategy and execution under new CEO Manish Anandani, especially amid competitive pressures and the company's premiumisation push.
Colgate-Palmolive (India) Limited announced a leadership transition on August 21, 2026. Shar Narasimhan, who served as Managing Director and CEO since 2022, has been elevated to Executive Vice President - Marketing, MSCI Asia Pacific Index Division of Colgate-Palmolive, effective September 27, 2026. Manish Anandani, formerly Managing Director for India and South Asia at Kenvue (formerly Johnson & Johnson Consumer Health), will succeed her as MD and CEO effective September 28, 2026, for a five-year term subject to approvals. Anandani previously spent 13 years at Colgate-Palmolive (2005-2018). The transition comes as the company focuses on premiumisation, digital and e-commerce growth, and marks 90 years in India. Narasimhan's tenure saw premium portfolio growth at five times the market pace, but the company faced competition from Dabur's Red toothpaste and other challengers. Shares traded down 19% from a year ago on the National Stock Exchange, compared to a 3% decline in the NIFTY 50.
