The binding supply agreement provides Elevrra Lithium with a long-term domestic customer and downside price protection, which is likely to support its revenue stability and margins. For Mangrove Lithium, the agreement secures a key feedstock source for its planned conversion facility, advancing its commercialization and potentially enhancing its attractiveness to investors. The deal also signals growing government support for domestic lithium processing in Canada, which could benefit the broader battery materials sector.
Elevrra Lithium Limited, a North American lithium producer listed on ASX and NASDAQ, announced on August 21, 2026 that it has executed a binding Spodumene Concentrate Supply Agreement with Mangrove Lithium, a lithium refining technology company. The agreement, which follows a non-binding MoU from February 2026, covers the long-term supply of spodumene concentrate from Elevra's North American Cobalt Inc. (NAL) operation in Canada — Quebec to Mangrove's planned 20,000 tonne per annum LCE conversion facility in Eastern Canada. The contract has an initial term of seven years with a possible seven-year renewal, and includes annual volumes of 122,000 dry metric tonnes in year one and 144,000 dmt from year two on a take-or-pay basis. Pricing is market-linked with a floor price expected to be above NAL's cost of production and no price ceiling. The agreement is subject to Mangrove securing financing, achieving a Final Investment Decision by December 31, 2028, and reaching commercial operation within three years. Both companies have received support from the Canada — Canada Growth Fund, a C$15 billion investment vehicle, reflecting Canadian government backing for a domestic lithium supply chain. The deal is expected to reduce Elevra's freight costs and strengthen North America's battery materials supply chain.
