FCSC warns against fake recruitment links

The Nigeria — Federal Capital Territory Civil Service Commission (FCSC) issued a public warning on Friday, August 21, 2026, cautioning Nigerians against fake recruitment messages and unauthorized application links circulating on social media, WhatsApp groups, blogs, and unofficial websites. The Commission, through its Head of Press and Public Relations, Ibraheem Zakariyya, emphasized that genuine recruitment into the Federal Civil Service is a regulated process governed by the Public Service Rules 2021. Under Rule 020102(i), appointments to positions on Grade Levels 07 to 17 are made only after due advertisement in three national newspapers and on the Commission's official website. The FCSC warned that recruitment is never conducted through private agents or middlemen, and that no officer can be appointed without an authorized establishment and, where applicable, a recruitment waiver from the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation. The Commission advised applicants to verify all recruitment announcements through official channels, avoid clicking on unsolicited links, and never pay money for forms, shortlisting, or appointment letters. It also warned that false declarations or forged documents could lead to disqualification.
