The Nigeria — Kwara State Government, through the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) project under the Nigeria — Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, flagged off the distribution of about 2,000 digital devices to 70 public senior secondary schools across all 16 local government areas of the state. The devices include 1,755 all-in-one desktop computers, 70 printers, 70 projectors, and 70 motorized projector screens. Each beneficiary school receives 25 computers and one unit of each other device. Additionally, the government has installed 10kVA solar power systems, internet connectivity, and CCTV cameras in each school, and trained three teachers per school. Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, represented by Deputy Governor Kayode Alabi, emphasized that digital literacy is a necessity in today's global economy. Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Lawal Olohungbebe, stated that the project aims to improve girls' access to quality education and enhance learning outcomes. The distribution is part of a broader effort to integrate technology into education and will continue beyond the first phase.
