Apple cuts 200 jobs in Siri, Vision Pro teams

Apple Inc. has cut more than 200 jobs across its Siri, software engineering, and Apple Vision Pro divisions as part of a restructuring to focus on artificial intelligence and new devices. Approximately 100 positions were eliminated from the Apple Vision Pro organization, including largely shutting down the Apple Vision Pro gaming team and reducing the immersive video production unit. Another 100 roles were cut from the Siri team and the Zebu Intelligent Systems group, which handles AI features. Apple stated it is realigning teams to evolve its business and will create new roles, offering affected employees support and opportunities to apply for other positions. The Siri changes are tied to an upcoming AI-infused version built on a new technical architecture. The Apple Vision Pro cuts reflect a strategic pivot toward smart glasses and away from costly immersive content production. Apple's stock eased 0.6% on the day of the report but closed the week 1.2% higher.
