Prime Minister Tarique Rahman directed authorities to launch a pilot project for a National e-Health Platform, aiming to integrate Bangladesh's healthcare system under a unified digital framework. The directive was issued at a meeting on integrated IT systems in the health sector held at the Prime Minister's Office in Tejgaon. The pilot will be tested in several districts to assess effectiveness, challenges, costs, and feasibility before gradual nationwide expansion. The Prime Minister emphasized secure storage of patient data, data security, privacy, user-friendliness, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability. Engineer Zakaria Swapan presented the platform's aspects. The meeting was attended by Health Minister Sardar Shakhawat Hossain Bakul, State Minister M. A. Muhit, Special Assistants S. M. Ziauddin Hyder and Ainul Islam Khan, Bangladesh — Health Services Division Secretary Amiruzzaman Chowdhury, ICT Secretary Md Mamunur Rashid Bhuiyan, and other senior officials.
