On August 20, 2026, the entomology question paper for the BSc Agriculture second-year examination at Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (IGKV) was leaked, leading to the cancellation of the exam. The leak was traced to Yogesh Sonkesariya, a professor at Bharti Agriculture College in Durg, who allegedly used an endoscopic camera inserted into a sealed envelope to capture the questions. He then sold the paper for Rs 11,000 to students Ajay Nayak, Tridev Patel, Nitin Pandey, Anuj Minj, and Aditya. India — Chhattisgarh Police arrested the six individuals within 36 hours of the complaint. The investigation also revealed a similar leak of the Plant Pathology paper on August 7. Two other students remain absconding. The case was registered under the India — Chhattisgarh Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2008, and Section 316 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
