The team trekked about four hours through difficult terrain to reach a suspected criminal camp. Upon arrival, the suspects opened fire, leading to a prolonged gun battle. Six suspected members of the armed group were killed, while others fled with possible injuries. The operatives recovered two pump-action guns and charms, and dismantled structures associated with the group. However, an explosive device suspected to have been planted detonated, killing one security operative and injuring another. The injured operative is receiving hospital treatment.
