Jingir denies anti-Christian remarks

Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir, chairman of the Islamic organization Jama atu Izalatil Bid ah Wa Iqamatus Sunnah, denied allegations that he dislikes Christians, calling them 'mere lies' and a misinterpretation of his earlier remarks made at a mass wedding ceremony organized by the Nigeria — Kano State Government for 1,500 couples. Speaking at a one-day national symposium in Jos themed 'Enhanced Political Participation and Social Justice as a Panacea for Unity and Development in Nigeria,' Jingir emphasized that Islam teaches fairness and justice to people of all faiths, and urged President Bola Tinubu, governors, and other leaders to govern with justice and fairness regardless of religious or political affiliations. He also affirmed that every Nigerian has the right to freely choose and support any candidate during elections. The symposium was attended by Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, Nigeria — Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi, and Sokoto State Governor Ahmed Ali. Barau Jibrin called on Nigerians to support President Tinubu's re-election to complete eight years in office, citing the North-South political power rotation as key to national unity.
