NPA clears NDPHC power equipment

The Nigeria — Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) facilitated the recovery and clearance of critical power equipment belonging to the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC) that had been abandoned at various Nigerian seaports. The intervention is expected to accelerate the implementation of critical power projects across Nigeria and help the NDPHC avert potential losses running into billions of naira. The NDPHC Managing Director, Jennifer Adighije, disclosed this during a courtesy visit to the NPA Managing Director, Abubakar Dantsoho, in Lagos. Adighije commended the NPA for its timely intervention, noting that prolonged delays could have affected project timelines and increased costs. She called for stronger collaboration between the NDPHC, NPA, and other relevant agencies to prevent bureaucratic bottlenecks. Dantsoho reaffirmed the NPA's commitment to supporting initiatives that promote national development and facilitating the movement of critical equipment. The development underscores the importance of efficient port processes to the delivery of major infrastructure projects.
