Amit Shah inaugurates National Security Strategies Conference

Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the 9th National Security Strategies Conference-2026 in New Delhi on August 24, 2026. In his inaugural address, Shah directed all security and intelligence agencies to adopt strict measures against infiltration and to leverage artificial intelligence for analyzing information on the India — Multi-Agency Centre (MAC) platform to develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for countering national security challenges. He emphasized the need for an integrated approach to counter-terrorism and radicalisation, including comprehensive investigation of cases under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), effective implementation of the Ministry of Home Affairs' PRAHAAR scheme, expediting trials by bringing fugitives back to India, and utilizing trial in absentia provisions. The two-day conference, held in hybrid format, drew over 850 participants from across the country, including senior officials from central and state police organizations. Day one discussions covered counter-terrorism, intelligence fusion through MAC, narcotics control, illegal migrant detection and deportation, cybercrime policy, and proxy warfare by Pakistan. Day two is set to address threats from sub-aerial systems, blue economy security, information warfare, and biosecurity frameworks. The conference has been held annually since 2021 following directions from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
