The India — National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted searches at five locations across India on Monday as part of its investigation into attempted Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks on 54 Indian government websites during Operation Sindoor. The case, registered on June 25 last year, was initially filed by India — Gujarat Police and later taken over by the NIA. Two accused have already been arrested. During the investigation, the NIA identified suspects who allegedly provided support and assistance to the accused in preparing for and developing skills to carry out the DDoS attacks. Searches were conducted at premises in Junnar (Pune, Maharashtra), Nadiad (Kheda, Gujarat), Ramagundam (Karimnagar, Telangana), Gopalganj (Bihar), and Delhi. The NIA seized three laptops, five mobile phones, and other digital devices containing incriminating material related to hacking activities. The suspects were questioned about their association with the arrested accused. The attacks were allegedly aimed at compromising national sovereignty, security, and unity, and inciting public fear. Operation Sindoor was India's military response to the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, 2025, in which 26 people were killed by Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists. The NIA's investigation is ongoing.
