Russian drone strike on Myla warehouse kills 37

On the night of August 28-29, 2026, a Russian drone struck a warehouse in the village of Ukraine — Myla in the Ukraine — Bucha district near Kyiv, Ukraine. The warehouse, which Ukrainian officials say was storing ammunition, shells, mines, and drones, detonated, causing massive explosions and fires that spread to nearby residential buildings, including a care home for the elderly and disabled. At least 37 people were killed, including 34 residents of the care home, and 42 others were injured, including four children. More than 370 people were evacuated. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the incident a 'terrible situation' and 'terrible negligence,' noting that ammunition storage near residential areas violates Ukrainian law. The strike was part of a three-day barrage of Russian attacks on Kyiv and other regions. In response, Ukraine has intensified its long-range drone strikes on Russian military and energy infrastructure, with President Zelensky setting a goal of 1,000 drone launches per day.
