The launch positions Alamar Biosciences as a leader in Alzheimer's blood-based diagnostics, potentially expanding its market share in precision proteomics. Positive sentiment is expected due to the unmet need for accessible tau biomarkers, though competition and regulatory risks remain.
Alamar Biosciences, Inc. (Nasdaq: ALMR) launched the first commercial eMTBR-Tau immunoassay on July 7, 2026. The assay measures a plasma biomarker that reflects tau tangle pathology, a core feature of Alzheimer's disease. It is available in the NULISAseq Neuro 220 panel and as a single-plex assay through the Technology Access Program. The launch addresses a critical need for a blood-based biomarker of tau pathology, previously only measurable via expensive tau PET imaging. Alamar will showcase data at AAIC 2026 in London on July 14.
