Netflix acquired Ben Affleck's AI startup InterPositive for $587 million in cash, as disclosed in a March 2026 SEC filing. InterPositive, founded in 2022, develops AI tools for filmmaking post-production. Affleck joined Netflix as a senior advisor, and the 16-person team continues developing tools. Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos noted that generative AI workflows are used in about 300 productions, citing cost and time savings. The Tom Hanks-backed documentary 'The American Experiment' used 17 minutes of AI-enhanced footage produced twice as fast at half the cost.
